Your Bio
Candace West is an award-winning South Florida photojournalist who spent more than 20 years working at The Miami Herald.
Her experience in the news field allows her to capture images that tell a story. Recognized for her versatility, she can easily shift gears and cover a variety of styles – family photos, travel photography, business portraits and events.
A talented artist, West also uses mixed media to create one-of-a-kind pieces of art. Her collection of images of Mackinac Island in Michigan, has been featured in several galleries on the island. West printed the photographs the old fashioned way – in a dark room. Then using another dying art form, she hand colored the images. The images are available in different sizes and can be viewed on the Mackinac Island tab of the website.
